Water Babies was thrilled to present the final Splashathon cheque of €34,000 to CMRF Crumlin!
These funds will go to the Julie Wren Complimentary therapy room in the Oncology ward. This is a very important part of cancer treatment in children as it helps to give some relief from their treatment and it also gives them some time away from the ward.
The Julie Wren Children's Cancer Support Centre in Crumlin was set up by Esther Wren, the mother of Julie Wren who battled with cancer from when she was a beautiful 17-month-old baby until she died just after her eighth birthday.
These funds will help to transform the lives of children battling with cancer and recovering from serious illness. It will also ease the burden of their families and loved ones as they cope with what must be the greatest stress and trauma of their lives.
A massive well done and thanks to all the babies, toddlers and children who kicked, splashed and swam helping to do #whateverittakes to get these sick children back out to play!
